A Mezquital Weekend
Five sites within a few kilometres of Ixmiquilpan. It is the densest cluster in the survey, which is why it fits in a weekend without the car becoming the point.
Road line from OpenStreetMap data.
There is no geological arc to travel: this is all the same valley. The point is the opposite. In a day you can go from a cave to a water park to a pool bath, because there is no real drive between them. The plan suggests two a day; the rest is spare on purpose, so you can change your mind without paying in driving hours.
- Do not try to do all five properly. They are so close that the limit is energy, not kilometres.
